San Francisco, California – July 30, 2026 – Tazama, the open-source fraud transaction monitoring project governed by Linux Foundation Charities, has joined the Global Anti-Scam Alliance (GASA) as an Associate Member.
The partnership reflects a shared commitment to strengthening fraud prevention and scam resilience by bringing together organisations across the payments, technology, and fraud prevention ecosystem.
As instant payment systems continue to expand across Africa, fraud and scams are becoming increasingly sophisticated and interconnected. Addressing these challenges requires more than technology alone. It demands collaboration between financial institutions, payment system operators, technology providers, policymakers, researchers, regulators, and the wider fraud prevention community.
By joining the GASA, Tazama will work alongside organisations across the continent to share knowledge, contribute technical expertise, and participate in collaborative working groups and practical initiatives across the region.
